We invite you and your family on Sunday, December 14, for Lessons and Carols service at 10am.Children will have their own mini sermon at the beginning of the service and can choose to rejoin the service or join the teachers at the Children’s Center.

Organist Adam Behlen plays the organ in a full sanctuary.

Happy Advent season. We hope that you will have some peaceful time to prepare for Christmas. I would like to invite you to two services that are coming up to offer you some time for reflection. Whether your child is currently attending or not, you and your family are always part of St. Michaels Church.

The first will be on our second Sunday of this month, December 14, for our Lessons and Carols service at 10 am. Lessons and Carols is a beautiful service that began in the Anglican Church in 1878. The service is interspersed with scriptural readings and choral presentations and hymns, all of which recall mankind’s longing for liberation from sin and death, and our hope and expectation for both the first and second coming of Christ the Lord. The children will have their own mini sermon at the beginning of the service and can choose to rejoin you at your seat for the service, go to Yeaton Hall where there is live-streaming, or go to the Children’s Center with their teachers until Holy Communion.

The second service is on Christmas Eve at 4 pm. The family service is traditionally very well attended and is The Telling of the Christmas Story by the children along with Holy Eucharist. The children will be presenting three short songs they have been practicing in the weekly Wednesday chapel lessons. I am including the three songs the children will be singing. I hope you can attend along with your family on Christmas Eve to hear their presentation. If you are able, please arrive by 3:45.

It has been a pleasure sharing the message of God’s love to them during the year, they love serving as acolytes in Children’s Chapel! I hope to see you at both services, and I wish you and your family God’s blessing this Christmas season.
