Adam Behlen

Adam Behlen has served as the Music Director for St. Michael’s since September 2016. A native Texan, from the small German town, Schulenburg TX, nested in the rolling hills outside of Austin. He first started his musical journey as kid, studying piano at the age of 8. Winning several all-state piano competitions during high school, and as well serving as the organist and assistant director for several local churches in and around his hometown.

From there, he went on to pursue his musical studies at Baylor University, earning his bachelor’s degree in music in choral studies with a vocal emphasis, he then went on to continue his studies at Manhattan School of Music receiving a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance. He worked in various young artists programs, and several opera productions within the New England region in his tenure in New York.

In 2015, he moved out to Los Angeles, and started working for Hallmark Cards Inc, serving various roles, and is now a Project Coordinator for the company supporting their digital division. He now focuses his musical talent at St. Michael’s, and as well various music gigs in and around the LA metroplex.

Outside of work, he enjoys various activities, including traveling, cooking (one of his major passions), and spending time with his dog, Bax.
